I am aware many of you are brave souls that battle the crowds for the special deals at the shopping centers on the biggest shopping day of the year, but I, my friends, like to laze around all day with my turkey hang over, a good book intermingled with a few naps. It is a big part of my Thanksgiving tradition.
.
I love Thanksgiving for many different reasons, and at the top of my list is being invited to my best friends house every year for the best feast ever.
.
Sue is a wonderful cook and proud of her turkeys. This years turkey weighed 34 3/4 pounds (note photo above) and this is not her biggest turkey. Two years ago she cooked a 36 pound turkey.
.
Sue travels each year to "Turkeyville" for her fresh turkey.
.
She gets up early and cooks all day.
.
On her menu you will find, Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, turnips, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, condiments, fresh vegetables., rolls and various pies with whipped topping.
.
It is not only a day of good food, but a day of good memories and laughter over shared stories of the kids as they grew up, lots of hugs and sometimes a craft or card game.
.
Sue will not let anyone do the dishes and she always sends every one away with a arm full of left overs. :-)
.
My nap day tradition is the frosting on my cake.
.
It helps my Thanksgiving day linger in my heart and I can say to myself, "Aren't I the Lucky one."
.
I Pray your Thanksgiving day is lingering in your heart today. God willing i will be back soon. Love Dee
.
And if you are reading this Sue...I love you. I am blessed to have you as my best friend.
